Sir,

I have the honor to forward the
enclosed correspondence between R.D. Exgre, Registrar of the Supreme Court, and Mr Kotter, Judge's clerk, which I have to request your Excellency the Governor will be pleased to submit to His Excellency.

Mr. Kotter has refused to resign, or to return to his duties, alleging that the suspension of the Chief Justice necessarily includes his also. As the duties of the Judge's clerk are of great importance, I beg leave to recommend Mr. Edward Pollard as the most proper person to be Judge's Clerk.
